Long Time No See...

It has been a little while since I updated my blog, so I figured it was about to give out a few nuggets of goodness just to reassure my HUGE reader base that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth.

Really there is so much to talk about from the Cowboys great start to the season (minus their showing yesterday against the Redskins), to the start of a new season of TV shows (favorite new show = Fringe, favorite returning show at the moment = The Office) latest political news (what in the heck is Sarah Palin doing as a VP nominee?)

Along the political theme lines, I recently attended an Obama-Biden rally in Detroit, which was a lot of fun. It was great to see so many people clearly with totally different backgrounds all rally together for a common cause. I of course took a bunch of pictures which can be found on my Flickr page by following the link below. I have to say...if Obama-Biden don't win the election I may lose faith in the American people as well as the American political system.

There is also the vaguest of vaugest double-meanings in the blog post title that I may have delve into at some point in the future...

My school getting a little bit of lovin'...

I think I posted a similar story around this time last year...but Wright State has once again been recognized by the US News and World Report as one of the best schools in the country...makes me proudier than I already am for my alma mater
Wright State among Best National Universities, Best in the Midwest rankings
Wright State University, an urban research university, has seen its regional reputation reach a national level with two recent college rankings.

Wright State is among the 262 Best National Universities listed in the "America's Best Colleges 2009" rankings by U.S. News and World Reports, and was also designated a "Best in the Midwest" college in The Princeton Review's 2009 college rankings.

This is the second year Wright State was awarded the Best in the Midwest designation in the The Princeton Review's special annual issue "Best Colleges: Region by Region." The special issue focuses on 630 of the best colleges in four regions: the Northeast, West, Southeast and Midwest. Academics, quality of life and extracurricular activities were among the categories included in the unbiased and uncensored survey given to students and their parents.

In 2007, Wright State offered 109 undergraduate degree programs and 46 graduate and professional programs. It retained nearly three-quarters (71 percent) of its freshmen into their sophomore year, an indicator of student success. fourth in the nation among small research universities for research productivity, according to the independent Academic Analytics Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index.

Hey!! I Made in Honorable Mentions...

Its been a while since I posted here, but with school starting up again and the olympics and everything...this is to be expected. There are so many important things happening in the world today that are worthy of commenting on and as much as I would love to delve into each in detail...time has become increasingly fleeting.

To get back into the swing of things a little bit...I made into the latest newsletter from the Wright State Honors Program. I kinda wish I had said something more substantive...
