LIVE BLOG: Olympics Opening Ceremonies

8:00--President Bush is such an embarrassment...I feel he is a terrible representative of our country.

8:01--That's an awful lot of drummers (2008 wow)...really cool though

8:02--The Rangers are down 5-0...should make watching the opening ceremonies easier.

8:03--Cool countdown with the drums...

8:04--Whatever that lighting stuff they have around the stadium really is very pretty...they should but some of those around some sports stadiums here.

FIRST COMMERCIAL BREAK

8:11--Wow footsteps of history...this is craziness...so far I love these ceremonies

8:13---Buddhist iconography....ooohhh...the rings are being lifted!!!...nice music too

8:15--Don't much care for the song sung by this nine-year old...though mainly because it sounds like gibberish to me...but all kids look so cute in their native garb

8:18--I wonder how many Americans are at these opening ceremonies?

8:18--Chinese national anthem...frankly I can't get excited about any anthem other than the USA's even that is pushing it though there is a bit of nationalistic pride when it is part of something worldwide like the Olympics

SECOND COMMERCIAL BREAK

8:21--This unrolling floor or whatever it is (broken record...I know) is really cool....but not cooler than these human caligraphers

8:24--I like the Chinese history/perspectives...I guess that floor is one big LED panel!!

THIRD COMMERCIAL BREAK

8:27--I think the Rangers are going to get shutout again...terrific.

8:30--I did not know China invented printing...again this is really cool...those blocks are really moving

8:31--I spoke too soon...I guess the Rangers won't get shutout...its now 5-1

8:33--It is pretty clear that this cost a lot a lot A LOT of money to make and produce...geez.

8:34--Great Wall!! and its falling and turning into flowers...how nice!!

8:35--WOW that was controlled by people!!

FOURTH COMMERCIAL BREAK

8:38--A lot of talk about the one being supported by the many throughout these ceremonies so far

8:40--A lot of Chinese history that I really have no idea about...sad or not?

8:40--WOW...those waves on the screens around the stadium...very cool

8:41--So the stadium will be converted into a soccer arena...very functional

8:41--So will there be an Olympics Opening Ceremonies music CD available for purchase?

8:42--That is a big boat!! I like all the colors.

FIFTH COMMERCIAL BREAK

8:43--"Not Shaken, Just Nerd"....I soooo excited for a new season of Chuck...Sept. 29!!!

8:46--The colors are sooo pretty, just like Bob Costas etc, I am in awe...

8:48--I wonder if anyone is even watching any of the major networks at this moment...I can't imagine it

8:49--There is that music I love...

8:51--A pianist can be a MEGA-star...who knew?

11:50--He is flying to the cauldron...that is cool...running along the wall...that is so neat...

11:53--The cauldron just appeared...and there it is the games have begun...
